Employee Assistance Program
We provide the Providence Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to all Real Benefits Group co-employees and their dependents.
The Providence EAP is a confidential, easy-to-use resource that is focused on results – free of charge. Real Benefits Group offers this benefit to support employees as they deal with life’s challenges. Professional assistance is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The EAP is available to ALL co-employees and their dependents, regardless of your enrollment in medical benefits.

- Face-to-Face Counseling Services & Assessments
Up to 3 sessions are available per issue to address a variety of concerns. Providence EAP counselors are experienced in helping individuals, couples and families work through the challenges that arise in day-to-day living. We can help with:
Personal and work pressures
Alcohol and drug problems
Life crisis related to death, divorce, illness and other major events
- Telephonic Services
We understand that life is busy, and that face to face counseling sessions do not always meet your needs. That’s why we now offer you the choice of scheduling sessions telephonically, or in person. Telephonic EAP sessions may work well for participants who are uncomfortable meeting with an EAP Provider face to face, or for those with limitations that make face to face sessions inconvenient.
- Legal & Financial Services
As a Providence EAP member, you are entitled to a 30-minute consultation with an attorney in your area at no cost on each new legal matter that you encounter. Once you have completed your initial consultation, you are entitled to a 25 percent reduction from the attorney’s normal rate, should you wish to retain his or her services.
Providence EAP financial resources are provided by seasoned professionals. Each member is entitled to a no-cost telephonic consultation. Typical matters include credit counseling, debt and budgeting assistance and tax planning. Local referrals are available for more complex financial planning issues, any cost incurred are the responsibility of the employee and are not covered by the EAP benefit.
- Elder and Child Care Consultation & Referral Services
Information and referrals are available for a broad range of elder & child care services. Caller can access via the web, or request by phone: Exhaustive searches, Customized matches, Referrals verified every time, Minimum of three referrals, and detailed profiles. Referrals and education packets emailed within 12 business hours or mailed within 24 hours of request, Emergency referrals and education packets emailed within six business hours or mailed overnight.
- Work-Life Resources on the Web
Our innovative, comprehensive website provides employees with interactive tools and current information about wellness, education, elder care, and everyday life issues. Each month, the website’s main pages are refreshed with feature articles and a webinar that follow a topical theme. New articles and resource links are added every day. - Services for Managers & Supervisors
In addition to the personal counseling available to all employees and their families, Providence EAP provides valuable consultation services for managers and supervisors. You can receive confidential consultations anytime you need assistance with a work or performance problem. We can offer a professional perspective as well as advice on how to maintain a positive work environment.
- Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM)
You can count on Providence EAP to offer support when you need it the most. Our counseling staff is trained to respond to workplace trauma and sentinel events Types of events to consider using CISM: death of an employee onsite; peer suicide; random workplace violence on jobsite; robberies, vehicle accident involving employees; equipment failure resulting in workplace injury/death; natural disaster at worksite; near death experience of employees at work; unexpected death of a family member of an employee.

At your first session, you should be prepared to give the counselor some background information to assist in formulating an action plan. Many people find it helpful to prepare a list of things they wish to discuss at each session.
